1 large yellow onion

1 (16 oz.) box linguine
9-12 slices American cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onion into strips and brown with hamburger in a large deep skillet adding Italian seasoning, garlic powder and red pepper flakes as it cooks. Drain cooked hamburger and onions and return to skillet. Pour in can of drained tomatoes, stir and cover. Let simmer on low while linguine is cooking. Add cooked and drained linguine to the skillet and stir. After it is completely mixed together, place slices of American cheese so the top of pasta is covered. Turn off the heat and cover with lid. Wait 10 minutes or until cheese has melted and serve.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a recipe handed down to me by my father, created by his father, "Pop Terry". We have enjoyed Terry Special for as long as I can remember. I have made it countless times for family and friends and have not found one person who doesn't love it! Must use linguine!!! I have tried other forms of pasta and for whatever reason, they do not work. Linguine is the best. Velveeta is a good substitute for American Cheese.
