2 C sugar divided
3 C boiling water
1/2 C butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
23/4 C biscuit mix
1/4 C sugar
2/3 C milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle 1 C sugar in heavy skillet place over low heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar melts (will clump first) and syrup is golden brown. Gradually add boiling water stirring until sugar crystals dissolve. Add 1 remaining C sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt. Bring to a boil; boil 2 minutes. Pour mixture into a 13X9 dish
Combine biscuit mix and 1/4 C sugar, add milk stirring with fork until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead lightly a few minutes. Roll dough to 1/2 in. thickness and cut with 2 in round cutter. Place on syrup. Bake 350 20-25 min until brown.
