1 cup shortening
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
5 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 ground cloves
1/4 cup apricot brandy
1 (8oz) jar candied fruit, chopped
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. walnuts, chopped
1/2 lb. pecans chopped
1/2 lb. dates, chopped
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. seeded raisins
1/4 cup flour
apricot brandy

Directions:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a 10" tube pan with aluminum foil. cream shortening and sugar; add honey, and eggs. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and add alternately with run; beat. Combine fruits and dredge with 1/4 cup flour. Fold batter into fruits and mix well. Pour into pan. Do not flatten batter. Place pan in 1" of water and bake for 3 hours. Cool. Pour apricot brandy on top and wrap in foil. Make 3-6 weeks prior to serving and moisten with brandy once a week.
