CRUST:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter

TOPPING:
2 cups sugar (may use 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup if preferred)
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 unbeaten eggs
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º.

For crust:
Mix flour and powdered sugar in bowl.
With pastry blender cut in butter until mixture is blended and smooth.
Pat mixture evenly in 10 1/2 x 15 jelly roll pan.
Bake about 18 minutes until very lightly browned.

While crust bakes, prepare topping:
In same bowl, sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add eggs, juice, and rind.
Beat with spoon until well blended.
Pour mixture over hot crust, return to oven, and bake 20 to 25 minutes more or until lightly browned.
Sift powdered sugar over top.
Cool and cut into squares.

Makes about (40) 2-inch squares.
