1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter

1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Measure the butter and place it in a large mixing bowl. Then measure the peanut butter and add to the butter. Whip together with a mixing spoon until fully blended.

Measure the granulated sugar and pour it on the peanut butter mixture. Pack the brown sugar into a measuring cup and then add to the granulated sugar.

Cream the sugars and the peanut butter mixture together.

Break the egg into a cup and then add it to mixture.
Measure the vanilla and pour it in. Start to stir slowly. Then stir hard and fast until you have a smooth batter. Set the mixing bowl aside.

Measure the flour, salt, and baking soda into a sifter. Sift them into a bowl. Add the sifted ingredients to the peanut butter batter and stir slowly and firmly. The batter will be stiff and light brown.

SHAPE AND BAKE THE COOKIES:

Using a regular teaspoon, place cookies onto a cookie sheet, making sure to leave room around each cookie. Dip a fork in flour and use the fork to make criss-cross marks on each cookie. Put into a 350º oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Makes about 20 crisp cookies
