1 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar + 1 Tbsp. for sprinkling
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Cream butter on high speed until pale yellow. Add sugars and beat for 2 minutes. Turn mixer to low and add vanilla. Sift flour and salt onto a sheet of wax paper and gradually add to butter mixture, stirring with wooden spoon or on low speed to combine. Spread in a 9x9 baking pan. Evenly sprinkle top of mixture with 1 tablespoon granulated sugar. Bake at 300º for 1 hour or until golden brown around the edges. Remove from oven and immediately slice into 2x3-inch pieces. Optional: Use a fork to prick holes in each piece.
