2/3 cup butter flavored shortening
2/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
2 heaping tsp. vanilla
3 cups of flour (1/2 cup more for softer cookies)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º. Using an electric hand mixer, mix together the shortening, butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend remaining ingredients.

Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes approximately 7 dozen (using a teaspoon to measure out batter onto cookie sheet).
