2 pints fresh strawberries
2 T sugar
2 cups homemade/cooked pudding
1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 - 3 C angel food, pound, or shortcake cubes
optional: strawberry Danish junket glaze, prepared according to pkg. directions

Reserve 3 or 4 berries for garnish. Hull & slice (approx)2 C of strawberries: arrange some along the side of a clear straight-sided 1/1/2 quart bowl.I put one strawberry facing up and one down, going around and up the side of the dish. Reserve 1 C berries to layer in dessert. Place remaining berries in blender or food processor, add sugar, puree. (This step can be omitted if strawberry glaze is used instead of pureed berries) Beat pudding and cream cheese until smooth. Place half of the cake in the bottom of the dish. Pour half of the pureed berries (or glaze) over cake, and top with half of the pudding mixture. Add half of sliced strawberries. Repeat. Cover and chill for up to 24 hours. Before serving, top with whipped cream and strawberries for garnish.

Uncle Reece requested this recipe. Use your imagination for this dessert. Bananas , raspberries with raspberry glaze or peaches with peach glaze can be used.

I got this recipe out of the Better Homes and Garden magazine: Mom's favorite magazine, as well. She said she would look through it as a child and imagine making all of the great food, and having a beautiful home like in the magazine pictures. She made her dreams come true.
