Ingredients: Beat together for 5 min on high speed: 3/4 c butter 1 & 3/4 c sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla Add 2 & 1/2 oz chocolate that has been melted and cooled slightly. Add 2 & 1/2 c cake flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 & 1/4 tsp soda Keep beating all and add 1 & 1/4 c ice water. Bake in greased pan 350 degrees for 35 minutes. While baking, prepare filling below
Butterscotch Filling: 1 c brown sugar 3 T flour 1 c milk Boil above for one minutes, then add: 2 egg yolks Boil for 1 minute more, then blend in: 2 T butter 1 tsp vanilla Spread on cooled cake and add: 1/2 c chopped nuts.

Directions:When cool frost with Marshmallow Frosting: 2 egg whites 1 & 1/2 c sugar 1/4 tsp cream of tartar 1 T light corn syrup 1/3 c water 1/4 lb marshmallow (approx 3/4 c) Boil above together,allow to cool, then frost cooled cake. |
