1 1/12 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
6 cups of oats (old fashion type)
2 c. chocolate chips
1 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream all ingredients to the vanilla together in a large bowl. Sift the dry ingredients and add them to the bowl. Blend in the oatmeal and then chocolate chips. Bake at 350º on a greased pan for 16-18 minutes for large cookies. This is the recipe the older kids grew up with.
