BRINE:
8 qts. cucumbers (cut in chunks
1 tbsp. slum
1/2 c. salt
2 qt. water
COOKING LIQUID:
1 pt. vinegar
4 c. water
2 tsp. tumeric and spices or pickling spices (in cheesecloth bag)
SYRUP:
10 c. sugar
5 c. vinegar
4 c. water
ADD TO BOTTLES:
1 cinnamon stick each
pearl onions, cauliflower, red peppers or pimentos

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucumbers overnight in brine and drain off. Boil cucumbers in vinegar and water and add pickling spices. Cook until they change color, pour off and rinse. Pack cucumbers in jars. Make syrup and pour over pickles and add cinnamon stick and other vegetables to bottles. Seal.
