Directions: |
Directions:Preheat oven to 375º. Take out a Pyrex glass 8 x8 or Pyrex glass pie dish. (If tailgaiting you can prepare in a metal throw away pan of either of these sizes). Let cream cheese soften then spread on bottom of dish. Next spread the jar of salsa on top of the cream cheese. Prepare the taco meat by browning the ground beef, draining excess grease and using your seasoning as directed on the pkg. Spread taco meat on top of the salsa layer. Place in oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until it bubbles. Remove and top with cheddar as the top layer. Use only 1 1/2 pkgs. of the cheddar. So you will have a half pkg. of cheddar remaining to use for some other recipe. The cheese will melt immediately. If the layer of cheese is too thick and does not melt immediately just pop it back in the warm oven for just a few minutes so that it melts watching it very carefully. Serve warm and with tortilla chips . |
