3/4 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/2 gal. warm water
2 lbs. lean ground chuck
1 c. onions, diced
1 c. carrots, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 10-oz. pkg. frozen mixed vegetables (no lima beans)
1 10-oz. pkg. frozen corn
1 16-oz. canned tomatoes
2 Tbsp. beef broth base
1-1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and stir in flour to make a smooth paste. Gradually stir in 1/2 gallon warm water, stirring constantly. In large skillet, saute' ground chuck. Drain and add meat to soup. Parboil onions, carrots and celery for 10 minutes. Drain and add to soup. Add frozen mixed vegetables, corn, tomatoes, broth, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cook for 30-45 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
