1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, separated (set whites aside)
1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. red food coloring
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Make a deep hole in dry ingredients, add vegetable oil, egg yolks, water, flavoring and coloring, beat until smooth. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff. Gently fold into cake mixture just until blended. Do not stir. Bake in greased tube pan at 350º for 50 minutes. Cool. Remove cake from pan and frost with white frosting.
