Homemade Pizza Recipe

Crust:
1 envelope of dry yeast
1 cup warm water
3 1/2 - 3 3/4 cups of flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 egg slightly beaten
oil

Sauce:
1 - 15 oz can of tomato sauce
1 - 6 oz can of tomato paste
1 - 2 cloves of garlic crushed
1 tsp of basil
1-2 tsp of oregano
1/2 - tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Toppings: (You choose)
Mozzarella cheese
Mushrooms
Green Peppers
Onions
Italian sausage
Hamburger
Pepperoni
Green Olives
Parmesan Cheese

Directions:
Mix yeast with warm water, let sit a bit. Add egg and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Roll in oil and let rise about an hour.

Add all ingredients of the sauce in a pan and cook on the stove for 10 minutes.

Cut up any toppings.

Split dough in half and roll out to fit pans. Optional ~ put into oven for a 4-5 minutes to make a chewer crust.

Top crust with sauce and toppings and bake at 450º for 15-20 minutes ~ keep an eye on it.

Making homemade pizza was always a treat and we always made a part of one the way Dad liked it ~ thin crust with hambuger and onions.

When I can pizza sauce out of my garden tomatoes ~ I use this recipe.
