1 T butter
1 lb ground beef (chuck)
1 16 oz.can stewed tomatoes (I use rotel)
2 t seasoning salt
1 t chilli powder
1/2 t Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cup milk
1 egg
3/4 cup yellow corn meal
Optional: 2 cups corn cut from cob & 3/4 cup coarsely grated cheddar cheese

Pre heat oven to 350º. Melt butter in skillet, add meat and cook on moderate heat until slightly browned. Add salt, chilli powder, W sauce, and tomatoes. Beat milk and egg together, stir in corn meal and corn. Add to meat mixture, blending well. Pour into buttered 2 qt. casserole dish. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes. Sprinkle top with cheese. Bake 10 minutes more or until cheese is melted.

Mother would make this on a cold day for our family when we were young. We found it delicious back then, but now when making it we find it a little bland. I don't add the corn, but the rotel tomatoes and cheese makes it very tasty.
