3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup light molasses
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 egg
4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening and molasses. Add milk to cool. Add egg and sugar. Mix.

Add dry ingredients. Mix.

Cool in fridge 1 hour. Roll out and cut in desired shapes. Cook 350º for 6-10 minutes. Shorter time makes a softer cookie. Frost if desired.
