16 dates, cut up
1 tsp. soda
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. margarine
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 small pkg. chocolate chips
Directions:
Directions:
Mix dates, soda and boiling water. Let stand while mixing batter and topping.
For batter, mix margarine, eggs, salt, flour, sugar and cocoa. Add date mixture. Put in greased floured pan. Mix walnuts, brown sugar and chocolate chips. Sprinkle on top of cake mixture. Bake 350º for 35 minutes.
