3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp vanilla
pecan halves-optional

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg yolk, beating well. Add flour, mixing well. Stir in vanilla. Shape into 1-inch balls, and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Gently place a pecan half in center of each cookie. Bake at 300º for 14-16 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool 5 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
