1 c. Sugar
1 c. Milk
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt (scant)
2 Tbsp. shortening
Second part of recipe
2 c. cherries
1 cup Sugar
1 c. Hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first part and place in a greased 9-inch skillet. Mix
second part and pour over first part. Bake in moderate oven(350º0 to 400º for 45 to 50 minutes.You can take
the juice from a can of cherries and make a dip for over the cake. 2 cups juice, l Tbsp. cornstarch, 1/2 cup Sugar. Cook until clear and serve over the cake.

You can use peaches,cooked prunes,pineapple, raspberries also. But it is suspose to be made with cherries Cake is also good with plain or whipped cream
