3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup soft butter, not melted
1 egg
3 T. cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream soft butter and sugar. Add egg, cream, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, which have been sifted together, one cup at a time. Roll thin and cut out with your favorite holiday cutters. Bake at 400º for 5-8 minutes. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.

This dough may be chilled, but it is not necessary. Use floured board or lefse board and floured rolling pin to make it easier to roll. This recipe was used in my cooking classes at Abbotsford High School between 1978-1998 for special holidays like Christmas, Valentine's Day and other special occasions.
