2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 c. jam
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins rolled in flour
2 c. flour
5 egg yolks

Icing::
1 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
2 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, milk, eggs, butter and jam. Sift flour and spices together, add nuts and raisins. Mix together and fold in beaten egg whites.

Icing::
Melt butter together and add brown sugar, let boil over low heat for 2 minutes. Add milk and strike a boil, remove and cool to luke warm, add sugar and stir until it spreads smooth, if it is too hard add hot water.
