½ cup white wine
4 large cooking apples
5 tsp. marmalade and 5 teaspoons Grand Marnier
5 tsp. chopped nuts, golden raisins or dried fruit
Sugar and ground cinnamon or 1/3 cup marzipan and 5 teaspoons apricot liquor or apricot brandy
1-1/2 Tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 400F (205 c). Butter a souffle or other straight-sided baking dish. Pour in wine. Wash apples. Use an apple corer or small sharply pointed knife to remove cores. Place apples in wine. Fill apples with marmalade and Grand Marnier, and nuts, raisins or dried fruit. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon or marzipan and liquor or brandy over filled apples. Dot with butter. Bake 20 to 40 minutes, depending on size and variety of apples. Serve immediately with whipping cream or half and half, if desired. Makes 4 servings.
