1 C Butter, softened
1/2 C Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Almond Extract
2 C Flour
ground Walnuts or Pecans
Apricot Preserves (or you can use Orange Marmalade)
Powdered Sugar (for sifting)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, egg and almond extract together. Stir in flour. Shape dough into walnut-size balls, roll in ground nuts, and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Indent centers using the back of a 1/2-tsp measuring spoon. Fill with 1/2 teaspoon of preserves. Bake at 350º for 16 to 18 minutes. Let "set" on cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Let cool completely. Lightly dust with powdered sugar.
