2 10-ounce packages frozen cut broccoli
2 cups or 3 medium onions, cut to your desire
2 tablespoons butter
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1 3-oz. package of cream cheese, cut up
1/2 cup shredded American cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1 cup soft bread crumbs

Directions:
Cook broccoli, drain well. Cook onions until tender, drain. Set aside.
In a saucepan melt 2 tbsp. of butter, stir in flour, salt and a dash of pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir till thick & bubbly. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more. Add cream cheese, stir until melted. Stir in broccoli and onions. Turn into a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Top with American cheese. Melt the remaining 2 tbsp. of butter & toss with crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake in a 350º oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
