1 c. mashed potatoes
1/2 C. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. powder sugar, garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all together. Then drop by teaspoons full into deep hot oil. Fry until light brown. Put them on prepared dish with paper towels to absorb the oil.
Roll in powdered sugar.

This is a very old recipe, came from Great Grandmother Koetterheinrich. My children loved this, they would save 1 cup of mashed potatoes from dinners to have the donuts in the mornings.
