1 1/2 lbs. walnuts, chopped
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
33 sheets fillo dough (Athens/Apollo)
1 c. butter, softened (or more, as needed)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine walnuts, sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Brush 12 x17 baking pan with butter. Place 6 buttered fillo sheets on bottom (buttering each sheet before placing another on top). Sprinkle with 1/3 of walnut mixture. Place 6 more buttered fillo sheets on top, then another 1/3 of the walnut mixture. Top with another 6 buttered fillo sheets and the rest of the walnut mixture. Finish baklava with another 15 fillo sheets and brush with remaining butter.

With very sharp knife, score fillo into 1 1/2 in diamonds or squares. Bake in preheated 350º oven for 45 mins to one hour until golden brown. Cool slightly and pour warm syrup evenly over baklava.
