1 lb Cut up pitted dates
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup chopped nuts
- - - - cook this until thick - - -
1 cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Soda
1/4 tsp salt
4 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Shortening, sugar and eggs together. Sift cinnamon, soda, salt, flour and baking powder together. Mix all together. Divide in three parts. Roll in rectangle shape...1/3 inches thick. Put on Date Filling. Roll up on waxed paper. Freeze over night. Cut and bake 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes
