4 cups Shortening, 3 cups brown sugar, 3 cups white sugar, 8 eggs ( set this aside ) Then mix 6 cups flour, 4 tsp soda, 4 tsp salt, Mix this with 1st indg. Then add: 4 cups chopped nuts, 2 large choco chips, 8 cups oatmeal, and about 4 tbsp hot water( maybe more)

Bake at 350º around 10 minutes sometimes switching the cookie sheets or until brown, but don't over bake.

I can remember my my Grammy Knepp and my Mom making these, they have the best smell when you're coming in from out in the snow.
