1 large onion, sliced and separated into rings
1, 4 lb. beef brisket, trimmed
3/4 tsp. pepper (coarse ground is best)
3/4 c. beer
1/2 c. chili sauce
3 T. brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, crushed
3 T. all-purpose flour
3 T. water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Place onion rings in a 4-quart electric slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle brisket with pepper. Place over onion rings in slow cooker. Cut brisket in half to fit in cooker, if necessary.
3. Combine beer and next 3 ingredients; pour over brisket.
4. Cover and cook on HIGH 4-6 hours or on LOW 8-12 hours.
5. Remove brisket to a serving platter, reserving juices in slow cooker.
6. Combine flour and water, stirring well; slowly whisk into juices in slow cooker. Cook, uncovered, on HIGH 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring often. Serve sauce over brisket.
