1/4 to 1/2 c. grease (from bacon, fatback or lard)
1 c. cornmeal
3 glasses milk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat grease in skillet on stove until very hot, but not smoking. Add cornmeal and stir thoroughly.

Slowly pour in milk, stirring constantly until gravy reaches desired thickness.


Mom made this gravy as I grew up. I didn't care for it then but later developed a taste for it, especially when served over Ham Biscuits.
