Two Tri tip, flank steak, brisket, or New York Strips
Basic Barbecue Rub
Your favorite bottle of off the shelf or homemade barbeque sauce.

Directions:
Directions:
Barbeque beef, specifically brisket, is the staple of Texas barbeque. The basic slow roasted brisket is served on white bread and wrapped in wax paper. It's quite literally ordered by the simple saying, "I'll have a barbeque."

The basic BBQ sandwich doesn't take the kind of time or effort that they use in the Lone Star State.

For the above ingredients, liberally rub meat with rub at least 2, and as much as 24 hours before cooking. Depending on cut, Tri Tip 45 minutes, flank steak 20 minutes, New York 12 minutes, cook meat over medium heat. Set aside and let cool. Once cool, thinly cut the meat. Place in a crock pot, Dutch oven, or other slow cooking pot. Pour BBQ sauce over meat and beat. Alternate between low and medium low for at least 4 hours and as much as 8. The meat will be very tender, serve on the roll of your choice with a simple potato salad and corn on the cob.

Serves 6 to 8.

Tip: For a lazy mans Hawaiian sandwich, add chopped sweet onion and brown sugar to taste. Serve on Hawaiian sweet rolls.
