1 tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 cup chopped onion or 2 tbsp instant minced onion
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 lb wieners, sliced
16-oz can (1 3/4 cups) pork and beans
1/3 cup chili sauce
1/3 cup catsup
1 to 2 tbsp, firmly packed brown sugar, if desired
1 can (8-oz) refrigerated buttermilk or country style biscuits
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crushed corn chips
3 tbsp grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp butter or margarine

Preheat oven to 375º. In large fry pan, saute onion and green pepper in butter or margarine until tender. Stir in wieners, beans, chili sauce and catsup. For a sweeter flavor, add brown sugar. Simmer 2 minutes. Spoon hot mixture into ungreased 12 x 8" or 9" square pan. Separate biscuit dough into 10 biscuits; pull apart each into 2 layers. Arrange 10 biscuits pieces over hot meat mixture; sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Arrange remaining biscuits to top. Combine corn chips and Romano cheese; sprinkle over biscuits. Dot with 1 tbsp butter. Bake at 375º for 20 to 25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown. Refrigerate leftovers. Makes 5 - 6 servings.
