2 1/2 sticks butter, softened
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt (optional)
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. ground nutmeg
3 c. oatmeal (quick or regular)
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats, Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes for a chewy cookie or 10 to 11 for a crisp cookie
