1 large cucumber, hothouse English
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
1/3 cup white vinegar

Peel the cucumbers if desired, leaving a bit of skin for color. Slice very thin and sprinkle with salt. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Drain and sprinkle with sugar and pour on the vinegar.

That's what the recipe says. I just mix everything together and then refrigerate. No draining, it works just fine.
