4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups milk
2 1/2 cups chocolate chips
(opt. 1 tsp. mint extract)

Preheat oven to 400º. Sift together dry ingredients in one bowl. In another bowl, cream shortening and sugar, then add beaten eggs. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Bake 8-10 min.
