1 tbsp butter
1 small onion chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
2 tsp chili powder (I use less)
1/2 tsp hot sauce (I use only a sprinkle)

Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add onion and cook until tender, stirring frequently. Add remaining ingredients, stirring well. Pour mixture into an 8x8 loaf pan and cover with heavy duty aluminum foil. Cut several 1" slits in the top. Place on the top grate of the smoker to serve with any pork meat. Cook at least three hours.

I always double this recipe b/c it is so good for dipping. This is great with pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. If there is extra it can be frozen.
