1 Package (4oz) Baker's German Sweet Chocolate
2 1/3 cups sifted cake flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tps. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Frosting
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/3 cup Baker's Angel Flake Coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Melt chocolate ove low heat; cool. sift flour with sugar, soda, baking powder, and salt. Soften butter. Add flour mixture, 3/4 cup buttermilk and vanilla. Mix to dampen flower. beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. Add chocolate, eggs, and remaining buttermilk. Beat 1 minute with mixer. Pour into two 9 inch layer pans, lined on bottom with paper. Bake at 350 about 35 minutes or until cake teste inserted comes out clean. Cool in pans 15 minutes; remove. Cool on racks. Frost.

Frosting
Combine milk, sugars, butter and vanilla. Bring to a full boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. (Mixture may appear curdled.) Quickly stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks; then stir into hot mixture. Return to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add coconut and pecannsn. Cool to spreading consistency, beating occasionally.
