1/2 cup water
few drops red food coloring
6 qts popped corn

Directions:

Boil sugar and water together until it reaches the string stage. Add a few drops coloring and stir into pan of popped corn.

This is from a collection of Theo and Nora Wright Family Favorite Recipes. From Jo Ann: Sometimes when mother would make it she would use brown sugar instead of the white sugar (omitting the food coloring).
