1 c. uncooked rice (not minute rice)
1 chicken, cut up or about 6 chicken breasts
1/4 lb. butter (one stick)
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
some mushrooms
3 1/2- 4 c. boiling water
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom of a 13 x 91/2 x 2-inch pan. Cover bottom of pan evenly with rice, and add a sparse layer of mushrooms. Arrange the chicken pieces on the rice and dot with butter. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over all. Salt and pepper to taste. Pour the boiling water into the pan. Bake for about 1 hour.
