1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 ripe bananas
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

1. Cream shortening and sugar,
2. Add other ingredients in order, mixing well after each addition.
3. Grease and flour 1 loaf pan. Pour batter into pan.
4. Bake at 350º for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Makes 1 loaf. Phyllis says this is the best banana bread recipe she has ever used. And we all know how much banana bread she has made over the years.
