Here are some more tips I have learned through the years:

• Add a bit of sugar when cooking broccoli to help it maintain its green color
• Store an apple w/ your potatoes to keep them for sprouting roots
• Easily remove the core from a head of iceberg lettuce by hitting the stem on the corner of your counter. The core should pull right out.
• To speed up the mashed potato process, don't cut your potatoes into chunks. Try slicing them instead. You will find they cook up much faster this way.
