1 lb Smoked beef brisket
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
1 garlic clove, minced
11/4 cups tomato based barbecue sauce
1 4-ounce can jalapeno peppers, chopped
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup grated Pecorino, Monterey Jack or Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a baking dish or a ovenproof ceramic chafing dish.
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, stirring to distribute them evenly. Transfer to the baking dish. Bake for 20 or 30 minutes, or until just bubbly and completely heated through. Serv immediately with slices of French bread.
