2 1/4 cup milk
4 eggs
pinch of salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsps. butter
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 uncooked 9" pie shell (refrigerated)

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk. Blend eggs until fluffy with a fork. Add salt and sugar and blend well. Slowly pour scalded milk into egg mixture, stirring and blending all the time. Add vanilla. Pour custard into pastry lined pie pan. Dot with butter and sprinkle the nutmeg on top. Bake in 375º oven for 25 minutes or until lightly firm. The custard will set more as it cools.
