The Standard-Times is southeastern Massachuestts recently wrote a newspaper article about Wyhen Colleen Pina-Garron editor of the “The Pina Family Cape Verdean Cookbook Project”.

The article describes how popular the cookbook was both within the family and at the local church bazzaar.

My favorite part was this paragraph:

It took approximately three months to collect recipes and another two months of copy editing and selecting and scanning pictures for the book. She credits the Web site www.familycookbookproject.com as being a tremendous resource. “It’s user-friendly and I would urge all people of all ethnicities to record their own family recipes for their children,” she added.
