1# Ground Beef-raw

1 cup rice (cooked in 2 1/4 cup water)
1/4 cup Ketchup
1 Tbls finely chopped onion
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp basil
2 bay leaves
1 Nice size head of cabbage
1 28 oz can Tomatoes, diced
1-2 8 oz cans tomato sauce (optional for thicker sauce)

Mix Hamburger, cooked rice, Ketchup, onion, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder.

Core head of cabbage-put in water, bring to a simmer, peel off leaves as they become soft. Trim vein with knife.
Place a mound of meat mixture on leaf, leave room to roll, tuck ends in with fingers. (start rolling from vein end) Cut up some of the remaining cabbage put in bottom of pot. Place cabbage rolls on top and pour the tomatoes, sauce if used. Add enough water to cover rolls. Add basil, onion powder, garlic powder, another 1/2 tsp salt & tuck in the 2 bay leaves. Cover, simmer for 2-3 hours.
