Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 cups sifted Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 lb lard or butter (I like lard)
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 tsp. Anise Seed
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Brandy (more may be needed to make dough manageable)
1/4 cup Sugar
1 tbsp. Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 350º. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream shortening with sugar and anise seed, using mixer on medium speed. Add flour mixture alternately with brandy and mix until well blended. Stiff dough may be rolled to 1/4" to 1/2" thickness and cut with a cookie cutter (I prefer the dough softer and using a cookie press for ease and speed). Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Mix 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle on cookies before baking.

Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 60 cut outs or about 100 cookies with the cookie press.
