10 slices of white bread (remove crust), 1/2 cup margarine, 3/4 lb sharp cheese - grated (12 oz), 4 eggs - separated, 2 cups milk, 1 T grated onion, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp dry mustard & 1/2 tsp red pepper.

Cut bread into cubes. Melt margarine in a large baking dish (1 1/2 qt) and stir in bread cubes. In a separate bowl beat egg yolks and milk together. Add dry ingredients, grated cheese and onions. Stir into bread cubes. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into mixture. Let stand 12 hours in refrigerator before baking. Bake at 350º or 375º for 45 minutes or until set and brown. Serve hot!

This is one of my all time favorite foods that my Grandma always makes at Christmas time. Doug has come to love it too and she has to make extra now that we all eat so much of it!
