Ingredients:

2 c. all purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/2 c. currants (or dried cherries) soaked in 2 T. brandy
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1 egg
3/4 c. whipping cream

Directions:

Preheat over to 375º. Combine first 4 ingredients in processor. Add butter and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal. Transfer to a large bowl. Mix in currants and orange peel. Beat egg with cream and add to flour/butter mixture. Stir until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Turn dough out on floured surface. Roll out 3/4" thick and cut into 2" rounds. Space on cookie sheet and bake until puffy and light brown, about 18 minutes.
