1½ t vinegar
½ cup milk
½ cup butter or margarine
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 t shredded lemon peel
¼ t each soda and salt
lemon glaze
1 t baking powder
1-1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
Directions:
Directions:
Stir vinegar into milk. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Beat in egg and peel. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake @ 350º for 12-14 minutes. Remove at once from sheet; brush with lemon glaze: Mix ¾ cup granulated sugar and ¼ cup lemon juice. Makes 48.
